A Lovely Windy Wedding

Poor Jane & Martin had terrible weather to contend with on their wedding day.  What started out as a very windy day soon lead onto rain in its bucketloads, but we tried to make the most of what we had and, despite being challenged with where to take large group shots, we enjoyed the day loads.

Jane looked beautiful and when she arrived at the church in Wigtown the light streamed in through the large church windows, there were some great photo opportunities during the ceremony.

The reception was held in a marquee in Jane's parent's garden, which was decorated in pastel, sweetie coloured decorations, flowers, bunting and the biggest table of pick & mix we've ever seen at a wedding! The entire marquee looked good enough to eat! We were lucky enough to have access to a large house nearby which was being rented by family, so we managed to take some shots up there, although our attempts at a large family shot on the steps wasn't easy, as the wind was extremely unforgiving!

We really enjoyed witnessing the tradition of photographing all the men (and boys) in the room wearing a ladies hat!  And not to mention the succulent spit roast pork rolls we were freshly carved as a parting gift by Jane's father...llittle things like this make us happy!  Needless to say, both Lynne & I were made to feel really welcome, and we enjoyed being part of the special day for such a lovely, down to earth couple, and we wish them all the best.
