Every wedding I photograph is special in its own unique way, but I do love photographing those weddings which are a bit different.
Kim & Hamish were married on one of the hottest days of the summer, on their farm outside Castle Douglas. Kim decorated the huge Fjordland teepee inside and out with stunning details including whiskey barrel tables, a feature mantelpiece, flower arrangements, festival flags and much more. The whole place had a magical festival feel about it, and with the sun beating down on this beautiful day, it was the perfect setting for a wedding.
This humanist ceremony included hand-tying and was set against the backdrop of the couple’s initials mowed into the hill by Hamish.
Kim and Hamish had planned a group shot of the wedding party on hay bales, stacked so high that a JCB was needed to place all of the wedding party on top of the bales! It was also a good opportunity for me to get the drone out and take some aerial shots.
The wedding celebrations went on late into the night. A fantastic day for a lovely couple and I wish them a long and happy future together. 🙂
