Nichola and Laurence chose the 29th February to get married ‘Leap Day’. The ceremony took place at Crichton Church in Dumfries with the reception held over the road at Easterbrook Hall in the Duncan rooms.

A superhero theme ran throughout the day, Nichola and her bridesmaids wore ‘amazing’ shoes with superhero comic strips emblazoned all over them; Nichola’s ‘incredible’ nails with superhero emblems; tables named after their favourite heroes; even Nichola’s pyjamas had superheroes plastered all over them!

Nichola and her father walked down the aisle to the sounds of the violin. The acoustics in the church certainly gave the violin a magical quality, genuinely breath-taking.

The weather theme for 2016 seems to be wet and windy, however we were lucky enough to be able to photograph all the portraits inside the church, a very dramatic backdrop.

The reception was decorated with crocheted bunting which matched the felt hand-tie, all handmade by the crafty bride. A lovely personal touch.

With live music provided by the aptly named three-piece band ‘The Flashes‘ guests danced long into the night.

Congratulations to Nichola and Laurence, who married on a leap day, will have to wait 4 years to celebrate their next anniversary… they’ll have to be ‘super’ patient! 🙂
